DefinitionHART stands for HighwayAddressable Remote Transducer.HART is the global standardfor sending and receiving digitalinformation across analogwires.HART is a bi-directionalcommunication protocol.
WORKING PRINCIPLE HART (Highway AddressableRemote Transducer) was developed byFisher Rosemount to retrofit 4-to-20mAcurrent loop transducers with digital
data communication. HART-protocol uses the principle offrequency modulation for the exchangedynamic at 1200 baud. HART uses low frequencies(1200Hz and 2200 Hz) to deal withpoor cabling, its rate is 1200 dB – butsufficient.

benefits HART technology can help us: Leverage the capabilities of a full set of intelligent device data for operationalimprovements. Gain early warnings to variances in device, product or process performance. Speed the troubleshooting time between the identification and resolution ofproblems. Continuously validate the integrity of loops and control/automation systemstrategies. Increase asset productivity and system availability. Increase Plant Availability Reduce Maintenance Costs Improve regulatory compliance
Assumption & limitation Maximum number ofsensors is twelve. Data precision is basedon auxiliary computer. Maximum of 600 datapoints per run. Accuracy to three decimalplaces. Will not perform statisticalAnalysis.
Future work Communication withmultiple HART devices. Further development of 3-D Modeling. Implementation of webbased server.
ConclusionEncountered Problems are; Software vendor backed out of
software agreement Software version incompatibility Poster printing Feature Creep Time zone differences Language barriers with tech support But in Future, Communication with multiple HART
devices. Further development of 3-D modeling. Implementation of web based server.
