HERMITAGE PARK PRIMARY SCHOOL Hermitage Park, Edinburgh, EH6 8HD
Newsletter 173/14.09.17Dear Parent/Carer,
Please check out what the school has been up to and what the children have been learning on our school website - www.hermitagepark.edin.sch.uk.
Moving to Email CommunicationAs I mentioned before the summer holidays, the feedback from our survey highlighted parents’ preferences to receive communication via email. We are now in a position to organise this as our new ParentPay system offers this facility. If you have not already registered for this system, can I please ask you to contact Sarah Reid in the office who will issue you with new log-in details. Thank you.
Head Lice in SchoolWe are once again having difficulty with an increase in the number of children who have head lice in school. Whilst common, this is very upsetting for both children and parents and can be time-consuming to treat. It is also very frustrating that once treated and clear, an infestation re-occurs.
I therefore ask that you check your child’s hair on a regular basis and should you discover lice and/or nits please treat as soon as possible. There are a range of treatments available and the local chemist would be able to give advice on the best one for your child. Parents can also attend the minor ailment clinic for further advice and free treatment.
Nursery NewsThis week in nursery the children have enjoyed making dinosaur biscuits. There are lots of numeracy experiences in baking such as weighing out all the ingredients.
We are starting an extended form of planning to what has been carried out in nursery already. The children will be part of their next steps in extending their learning. The observation sheet can be found on the wall as you come into nursery. Have a look at some of the things we have been talking about.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to our parent feedback question. Most of the children have settled well and enjoy coming to nursery. There will be a different monthly question about nursery so look out for the next one in October.
