Hello! I’m very glad to see you here, I hope you didn’t run into any dragons on the way! As you have noticed, the place you have stumbled upon is not serious world. Here, you are free to frolick, and embrace childhood once again. Your ideas can flow and dance upon fields of graphite, drawn by a loving hand. Daydream values a young soul, as the girl behind it has one herself. While the execution of the work here is mature and well-handled, the content of the work itself strives to revive a childish spirit. To awaken unicorns and fly with dragons. Get ready to daydream.

Q about meHi! I’m Faith! I’m very glad to be meeting you, and I hope you’re enjoying your time here. A little bit about me... In school I would always be scolded for doodling all over my homework, so instead of ceasing, I’ve made it into my branding (whoops). I have an Associates Degree in Graphic Design, and I have to say I’m very happy with it. Art is one of my favorite things in the world, right up there with cats and dewy summer mornings. Those are the best. I have a lot of work experience with children. Part of me thought I should become a teacher, but I soon realized that my reasoning for working in childcare wasn’t because I loved kids, but because I, myself wanted to remember my childhood. I strive with every fiber of my being to implement that into my designs and artistry. Whether I’m designing annual reports for a train company, or illustrating meloncholy raccoons on benches, I try very hard to bring joy into my designs, and show others the joy of life through it.

Digital art of a snowy white cat, Tinystar. A
friend had commisioned this from me as
character art for her leader. All of the art on
this page is inspired by the Warrior Cats
universe, and I hope to capture that same
whimsy in these pieces.
This is Thornbriar, a friend’s OC. She is a
strong fighter with a resolve of steel. Having
lost her family in a flood, her drive and passion is now even stronger. Paired with her many
scars, both mental and physical, Thornbriar is not a cat to mess with.
Art of my OC (Original Character), Finchstar. He is the leader of WindClan, a group of cats that live on the moor. In this piece, I wanted to portray a broken yet determined man, too stubborn to be pessimistic, and too hopeful to give up.
Pricklebush, Medicine Cat of ThunderClan. The cat is very opinionated and takes nonsense from no one. I wanted to illustrate his contemplative nature, along with his drive to serve and protect his friends and family.

A piece made with watercolor pencils. It was drawn from
reference of a nude model. Here, I
wanted to convey the heaviness of the
world around us, and how it must be
handled with a wise mind and hand.
A cultural icon and influencer, Marilyn
Monroe makes for great drawing
material. I used graphite pencil, then
added a red hue to the art in photoshop.
A sketch of a cat eye looking into the light. I used graphite pencils to convey both wonder and whimsy, and hope of what is to come.
This is my art classroom, where I first started still life sketching. I couldn’t pick just one thing to draw so I chose to do the whole room instead. I think it portrays a new beginning, despite the skeleton in the back.

A small boy takes shelter for the night with his trusty griffon. In this drawing, I played with lighting and shades. Both sharpies, colored pencils, and even nail polish were
used (for the stars). As a child, I used to pretend mythical animals like griffons flew in the trees, I wanted to convey
the piece as if it was seen through the eyes of a child, full of whimsy and wonder.
A mixed media piece, consisting of oil paints, colored pencils, and glossy paint. I am in love with cats, if you couldn’t tell, and wanted to portray them in a more exotic light. But no tiger is complete without their queen. So here they are together, frolicking amongst the swirls.

An imaginary friend of mine as a child, this tiger is bipedal, and possesses magical armor
and powers as well. Here I played with lighting and hues, giving the drawing a mystical
effect, to light the mystical beast within.
A sketch of the Hufflepuff Dorms, fanart of the
popular Harry Potter series. It was colored in
photoshop to give it that “watercolory” effect. I
wanted to give the room a warm and welcoming
light, and speak of the girl that resides there.
These are characters from a fictional story I’ve been wanting to write for a while. Marra on the left, accompained by her trusty sidekick, Meno. Here, they are returning after a great mission. Perhaps they fought dragons or saved a castle, you get the idea.
A sketch of a small fairy, she’s feeling contemplatve, holding her knee and wiggiling her toes. I added a background in photoshop, completeing the scene with some fireflies!

A compelation of pictures I took in Chicago, mashed into one. I wanted to bend the fibers of reality, and make viewers question what exists, and what doesn’t. What determines these factors? And who are we to bend them?

My cat, King, split up into many boxes, Andy Warhol style. I hope the different textures make his fur pattern even more interesting, and the green in his eyes make them pop.
My cousin’s dog, Zeke, he has some exotic looking stripes down his pelt, and I wanted to make them stand out. I played with RGB levels and hues, manipulating the photo.

A single sharpie, portrayed and twisted into many overlays. It gives me kind of a Tim Burton vibe, if he suddenly owned an art store. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.
A hoodie string, manipulated into different levels and greys. It reminds me of a snake nest, all those cotton fibers writhing beneath the control of a photoshop program. “Snakes, why did it have to be snakes?”

Catbird is a brand I came up with, who specalize in sending cat owners cat supplies via mail. This box here (above) would be a “point of purchase” which would hold all sorts of stuff for a cat. When emptied, the cat flap on the front can be cut out, so your friendly feline can use this box as a fort! The bag (to the right) would be a cat food bag, with ears of course. The whole point of this imaginary business would be that it is tailored to your cat. They have different packages for an “active cat” or a “docile cat,” etc. Tailored to your cat’s needs. Delivered for yours.

From the time I was a kid, I have never been able to understand attacks upon
the gay community. There are so many qualities that make up a human being... by the time I get through with all the things that I really admire about people, what they do with their private parts is probably so low on the list that it is irrelevant.
LGBT Alliance posters! These were done both by hand and in Photoshop. First, I drew out the figures, then scanned them in. Next I gave them colored undertones and inserted them into the posters! With this campaign, I was striving for an old “call to action” kind of feel. I looked at a lot of examples of old WWI and WWII posters, and studied those. I chose a font type to match the era I was shooting for. The main goal here was to show others the LGBT community in a way that was relatable. Quotes intertwined with the figures helped bring across the message, and overall, I think they came out alright!

This is a mock annual report done for BNSF, a railway company. It feautures 16 pages, as well as a finance page, letter to the shareholders, and table of contents. I kept the pictures black and white here to give it an industrial feel, and used orange to match their logo.

Q extra! extra!Learn about this poster’s process! When I go to start a graphic design piece, first I’ll do a “mind map” and write out all the ideas about the subject. Next, I will began sketching, doing maybe 5-10 each time. And lastly, I’ll prepare any graphics I need ahead of time, that way I’m not flounding about looking for material when the deadline is coming in fast.
This poster was created just in time for the 2018 Midterm elections. It was meant to educate millenials, my generation specifically, about “how and why” to vote. It includes information about 2016’s voting polls, as well as the actual process on how to register to vote. It was hung up and around Penn Valley’s campus, to help students learn about the importance of voting.
