2013: Announced consulting members on developing CAPBS at BILD PBS International Research and Practice Conference in Brighton

2009: BILD set out its PBS mission

2011: First edition of the International Journal of PBS

2012: Identified need to:

• Learn from international practices,

• Identify share good practice within the UK

• Bridge the gap between academic research and the practical application of PBS.

May 2015: Launch of CAPBS

Workplace PBS development programmes: Delivering learning and development for staff mapped to the PBS Competence Framework, and designed around the specific needs of the individuals being supported

Workforce CPD events: CAPBS’ in-depth training events, eg, ‘Using happiness as an intervention in behaviour support plans’, help develop workforce competences

CAPBS Master Classes: At a CAPBS Coaches network event, IJPBS editors, Professor David Allen and Dr Peter Baker run a master class on ‘Key considerations in the effective implementation of PBS at organisational level’.

Developing PBS resources with people with learning disabilities: Working with Build for the Future to develop training materials for people with and without learning disabilities

Working with families and PAs: CAPBS is working with families and PA teams to develop PBS support programmes around their particular needs

IJPBS: CAPBS’ International Journal of Positive Behavioural Support continues to play a leading role in the development of an evidence base for practice
