HELEN KELLER’S TEACHER

A book summary by: Keely Merrill and Brandon Dozier

The book began with Annie moving to her cousins house.

Annie meets Mr. Thomas. He took care of her and her cousins.

Annie had to move to a poor house. She was sad about leaving.

Annie made up her birthday because she didn’t know when it was.

Jimmie got sick with his side hurting and he died.

Annie missed Jimmie a lot. She became friends with other people

in the poorhouse.

Annie moved out of the poor house and went to school. She lived with the house

mother, Mrs. Hopkins.

She graduated from school.

She was nearly blind. She had 6 operations on her eyes.

Annie got a call to see if she would help Helen Keller

who was blind and deaf.

Annie helped Helen read and write. She learned quickly.

Annie’s sight got worse….but she continued to work with

Helen Keller. Helen graduated from school with Annie’s help.

Annie died on October 19, 1936
