The San Giorgio mill located in Nogaro (Udine, Italy) - owned by Marcegaglia, one of the main players of the steel market worldwide - is dedicated to the production of RMP (Reversing Mill Plates) from quarto. The mill covers 105,000 sqm surface, 33,000 of which covered, including dock alongside the river Corno.
Manufacturing centre has been newly equipped with heating furnace for normalization - one of the most modern and hi-tech furnace in Europe - capable to offer the maximum desired results.

Located alongside Corno river, the plant can boast of full integrated logistic access: vessels of 5,000 average tonnage, a dedicated railway and easy conntection to highways.
The closer Monfalcone port offers regular routes towards the major world destinations with bigger vessels (up to 30,000 tons).

Equipped with a re-heating furnace with a process capability of more than 1,300 tons of steel per day, the plant has a yearly manufacturing capacity of 400,000 tons.
The facility is also equipped with one slab cutting line, seven plate cutting lines, one mechanical trimming edge machinery, one furnace for normalization plus a pre-heating furnace and facilities for shot blasting and cold levelling.

The plant service centre is equipped with a heat treatment furnace for plates,operating on specific algorithms developed for each material chemical composition.
Additional finishes include: mechanical trimmed edges, shot blasting and cut-to-length by plasma or flame-cut. Product marking by stenciling or die-stamping grants the easy identification of material for full traceability.

The manufacturing system of San Giorgio di Nogaro plant is ISO 9001 certified, ISO 14001:2015 and BS OHSAS 18001:2007.
The range of heavy plates for pressure purposes is certified AD2000 W0 under RHEINLAND TÜV (PED 97/23/EC) and according to CE marking in compliance with EN 10025-2 for structural applications.
A purification system for the treatment of the waters is part of the mill, in order to guarantee the highest environmental standards.
