Initial Guidance

General Info

The existing spray boom has a weak section, which may result in some parts breaking, when operating the spray boom.

Some of the components on the boom must be replaced to improve the strength of the boom.

Follow these instructions carefully step-by-step to complete the changes.

Where on the Sprayer

In the middle of right and left wings of the spray boom.

Tools and Materials Needed

• Wrench

• Socket wrench

• Rubber mallet

• Grease

• Lifting gear

Be aware that the weight for the existing boom section alone is approx. 40 - 45 kg, and a similar weight for the new boom section. Use lifting gear or get a helping hand to complete the assembly work in a safe way.

Assembly Work

From the delivered upgrade kit, the new boom parts are assembled in the following order.

Place the red steel part on the floor.

Mount the two bolts M16 x 100.

Mount the nuts on the opposite side.

Grease bolt threads for easier screwing.

These bolts are later to be used for alignment of the boom section.

Mount the ram eye, Nord-Lock washers and nuts as shown.

Align the ram eye hole with the steel bracket holes.

Tip: Insert a round steel rod through all three holes to get the alignment.

Instructions

8

Lift up the steel part to align it with the adjacent boom section.

The ram eye is connected at the top of the boom.

Lifting straps should be placed as shown.

Instructions

9

Mount the black hinge pin at the bottom for connecting the boom sections.

If needed, use a rubber mallet to get the hinge pin placed correctly.

Mount a lock nut at the end of each hinge pin.

Instructions

10

The hinge pin at the bottom:

The top must be pointing in this direction when mounted.

Mount the grease nipples at the top of each hinge pin.

Mount the hinge pin at the top for connecting the ram eye.

Insert the bushing to ensure correct connection between ram eye and hinge pin.

Instructions

11

Adjust the M16 bolts and ram eye for aligning the boom sections.

Only make minor adjustments this way (only a few turns of the nuts for bolts or ram eye, if needed).

Bigger adjustments should be carried out using shim between this new boom section and the outer boom sections.

Assembly work is completed.
