Easter weekend is justaround the corner, andif you don’t have any big

plans for the holiday week-end, this is a great time to takeadvantage of home renova-tions and perhaps getting yourhome ready for resale!

This is my favourite time ofyear as it gives me an excuseto tackle some of my ownfun design projects I’ve beendoing for years on HGTV’sIncome Property.

Here are some of my favour-ite little projects that take verylittle planning and won’t costtoo much time or money. Butthe results will be fantastic!

1. Paint a room or two.Believe it or not, painting canbe very fun and rewarding andit’s a great bonding activity todo with friends and family.

2. Wallpaper a feature wallin a living room or bedroom, you won’t believe the dra-matic effect that this two-hourproject can make.

3. Create a collage of pic-tures and bring some life tothose boring walls. Grab a

s e r i e s o fframes andinsert yourfavour-ite prints orfamily pic-t u r e s . B einnovative

and work with your friendsand loved ones to creativelyhang your favourite framedimages. A good tip is to startwith the larger, more domi-nant frames and work out-wards to hand the others

4. Change up your pil-lows, throws and area rugsfor vibrant colours and incor-porate cottons, and lighterweight fabrics onto your bedsand sofas.

5. Bare windows are easy totackle, many home stores andbig box hardware stores nowsell a variety of window treat-ments from drapes to blinds. Before heading to the store, make sure you take all thenecessary window measure-ments: inside/outside frame, ceiling heights, etc, havingall these key numbers withyou will keep your treatmentoptions wide open.

6. Add some splash to yourbacksplash. Tackling a back-splash wall in a kitchen orfeature wall in a bathroom isa simple and easy to achievethat “wow” factor.

7. Front door and entryway.Creating the first impression isimportant especially if think-ing of selling, Change up yourmat, mailbox, accessories byadding in some bright wel-coming colours. Clear debrisand purchase some playfuland smart hallway accesso-ries.

8. If it’s a larger renova-tion project you are planning, take this time to discover yourdesign style and do researchabout your project, exploremagazines, and venture outto tile stores, plumbing show-rooms, etc. You can even startto research Design firms like

ours to plan your upcomingspring renovations. We findthat our savvy clients make for
