A creative songwriter andharmonica virtuoso, he forms haIf of thegreat partnership, Cephas & Wiggins. ln1987, they won two W.C.HandyAwardsfromthe Memphis Blues Foundation, Best TradHional Album of the Year andBlues Entertainers of the Year. Now on Alligator Records, Cephas &Wiggins have been together for 2S years and they are still in demand.Phil's class will focus on harmonica techniques of the east-eeast countryblues style. KEITH DUNN, HarmonicaKeith Dunn··is a great harmonica player,vocalist, songwriter and producer. With hisharmonica master classes, solo performanc-es, gigs with his band and guest appear-ances, Keith provides the authentic bluesexperience. This is brought to life on hisalbum, the critically acclaimed "Alone With The Blues". The entire albumfeatures voice and harmonica in a unique solo format. It goes to the heartand soul of the blues with songs described as having " •.. the politicalactivism of J. B. Lenoir and the attitude and punch of Junior Wells". KeithDunn's style is Iyrical, melodic and percussive. For Blues Week,he will beteaching beginning blues harp, covering ail aspects of playing.

BOB HALL, KeyboardsBob Hall has taken his unique brand of boo-gie woogie ail over the world for more than40 years. Described as "the finest blues andboogie woogie player this side of theAtlantic" by Folk Roots, he has recordedover 100 albums with some of the world'sgreatest blues artists. Bob worked as asideman accompanying such blues originalsas John Lee Hooker, Howlin' Wolf and Chuck Berry just to name a few. Heis also a contributor on blues piano styles to the Routledge Encyclopediaof the Blues. For the workshop, Bob will demonstrate examples of thetechniques associated with blues piano playing. Participants must bringan individual portable keyboard. The ability to read music ls not required.

HILARY BLYIHE, VOlaisHilary Blythe has used singing as a dailypart of life since early childhood, whenslnging around the family piano was afrequent activity. As a teenager inLondon in the early 60s, Hilary found anewmusical home in the flourishing folkmusic scene and, acoustic guitar inhand, has taken her songs to folk clubs,concerts and festivals ail over the UKand around the world. Her blues repertoire consists mainly of songs orig-inally recorded in the 20s and 30s by singers who, like herself, sang ineclectic musical styles. Hilary's love of singing has enabled her to inspireothers to develop and enhance their own vocal technique. For BluesWeek,Hilary will be available, by arrangement, to work with small groups andindividuals to develop confidence and improve basic singing techniques.
