Mr. Alex from KDM foundation, France, made his 10 days evaluation visit towards
the therapy session training and its impact to the community in the service villages of
Hariksha Learning Centre.
Mr.Krishnaraj BABL donated the uniforms and its stitching charges for Rainbow
higher education 10th
standard and 11th
standard children.
Our Rainbow children exposed their talent in the District level competition between
children home in various events, our children are selected as best in the Drawing.
Hariksha’s corporate supporter Aban made their contribution of Rs. 50,000/- on Nov

Celebration
During these three months (November, December & January) is the festival season, many of
the festivals are celebrated, the celebrations has Values, customary practices and traditional
ceremonies to the children of our Home and in the Institutions. These celebration gave
entertainment, happiness, enjoyment, good spirit, culture values, etc., to our children. This
helps to link the children about their past with their present, what behaviours are reinforced,
what assumptions are at work and what is valued. The festivals and celebrations are not only
connected to our social and environmental context but to ones inner world too. The
Christmas is bringing out of the joy of giving and spreading joy amongst ourselves, The
Muslims festival Ramzan is helping to get in touch with the inner discipline. The festivals &
celebrations are giving enthusiasm, qualities of sensitivity, creativity and more fun.
The children day celebration is celebrated on 14th
November in all our projects. In Hariksha
Learning Centre the children are performed cultural programs and the day is celebrated with
cake distribution. In Hariksha Home the children’s day is celebrated on 19th
November with
Mrs. Rajakumari, Inspector, All Women Police Station, Gingee.
On 8th
December the children of Rainbow Life Children are celebrated the completion 7th
year annual day. The children are very happy to be the part of Rainbow Life Children Home,
they felt very happy, expressed their good feeling. The children exchange sweets with each
other and expressed their happiness.
The significant 10 days festival of Tiruvannamalai Town Karthigai Deepam is celebrated
from 23rd
November to 3rd
December 2017. Every day, the devotees are made the procession
on different chariots. The tenth day celebration lighting the lamp in the peak (2668 feet
height) of the Tiruvannamalai mountain is celebrated, around 10 lakh people are from various
places are participated in the celebration, many people made circumambulation (14
kilometer) and climbed the mountain. During this year limited peoples allow for climb the
mountain. The children of Rainbow Life Children Home decorated their houses with
illuminated mud lamps, they worshipped the god in the form of fire, they had special food.
The ancient two millenium celebration, Christmas is a secular celebration celebrated, the
annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ is celebrated on 25th
December as a
religious and cultural celebration. The children made the miniature model representing
Christ birth, Christmas tree, with decorations. The miniature is decorated with illuminating
bulbs and twinkling stars. The children are celebrated the Jesus Christ birth full of joy and
enthusiasm. On 24th
the children are expressed their wishes by secret box, the next day the
children wishes (toys & gifts) are provided to the children of Rainbow Life Children Home
Children, Hariksha Learning Centre,. All the children are felt very happy, the children are
provided with sweets, cakes, special food.
The customary celebration of Pongal is usually celebrated 14-17th
of every January month.
The first day is Bogi, on this day people discard old worn-out belongings and celebrate new
possessions, the houses are cleaned, painted and decorated to give new festive look. The
horns of oxen and buffaloes are painted in villages, the farmers keep medicinal herb (neem,
avaram, sankaranti) in northeast corner of each fields, to prevent crops from diseases and
pests.
On 14th
the children are wear new dresses, Rs.10,000/- amount paid Moon City Rotary club
for the new dresses of the children, the children enjoyed their holidays, they decorated the
entrance of the house with colourful Rangoli, with sugarcane and the mud pot (cooked the
Pongal). All the children are enjoyed the celebration in a Traditional values.
On 15th
the children are taken to Avalurpet, Hariksha Learning Centre, where the cows are
washed, decorated, and special food offered to the cow and calf. The children are worshiped
the cow and thanked it for its great help in the agriculture.
The 69th

Parents Meeting
The November month parents meeting took place on 4th
November, Saturday. In this
meeting 29 parents / guardians and KDM volunteer Mr. Alex are participated, the discussions
are as described below.
At first part of the meeting Mr. Alex from KDM had discussion with the parents who
are all attended the therapy training session, he observed the parents and collected
their feedback about the KDM Training and he made monitoring session with the
parents
We shared the information about the Dengue Fever, its symptoms and treatment. We
also shared about the precaution measure about the herbal medicine and Nilavembu
Kudineer and its availability in all the Primary Health Centre and many other places,
we also shared the information how to avoid the breeding of the Dengue mosquitoes
We shared the information that their children are participated in the District Level
Sports event and the prize winning information, the prizes will be handed over to the
parents.
We informed to the parents to share the meeting information to the absentees parents
and to inform them to visit our centre whenever in other days to know more details
It is shared to the parents of Shanthi & Gokul that everyday the vehicle is waiting for
a long time in their concerned stopping, so the parents are informed to keep their
timing in their concerned stopping.
The incident of Tamilarasan is discussed with the parents that during many days the
staff found no one to pick their children on time, one day Tamilarasan is dropped in
his concerned bus stop, after the vehicle started a few yards ahead the staff found that
the boy got affected with epileptic fits, immediately our staff and the with relative the
boy is hospitalised and necessary treatment provided. So the parents or relatives are
requested to wait in the bus stop to pick their children.
We found many children are coming to the Learning Centre with color dresses and a
few children are with torned dresses. We shared the parents that during the January
2018 we will try to found philanthropist to replace uniform of the children.
The December month parents meeting took place on 9th
December, Saturday. In this meeting
26 parents / guardians are participated.
The monthly activities and reviews of the institutions are discussed every month with the
parents / guardians for their information. The parents / guardians are asked to share their
views, suggestion and requirement about each and every individual child.
Parameswari & Praveenkumar’s parent are informed to take all the necessary
arrangements and documents (Aadhar, Joint Bank Account Pass Book Copy, National
ID, Etc.,) submission to DDRW Office towards receiving their monthly maintenance
grant from Government.
Discussion made about the vocational activities for the elder children, we informed to
the parents that we are planning to do it as a fulltime in our centre, the parents are
welcomed it
We requested to the parents to extend their support and contribution towards the
vehicle running and maintenance expenses as much as possible
We informed to the parents to find the cow feed (Rice Straw) near by their villages to
maintain the vocational activities of the Dairy activities
The January month parents meeting took place on 6th
January, Saturday. In this meeting 28
parents / guardians are participated.
We shared the Quarterly Assessment details with the parents and requested them to
take participate in this during their children evaluation
Karthik health problem is discussed in the meeting, all the parents are instructed to
follow the medication routine as prescribed and periodical health check up
Tamilarasan parent informed that he got dental decay for which they underwent
treatment in Government Hospital, Tiruvannamalai, for which he is absent for 15 days
Again in this month also the parent are informed to take necessary arrangements to
apply for the monthly maintenance grant
Informed to the parents to attend the monthly periodical meeting regularly
Staff Meeting

January we conducted the HLC staff meetings, below described the
discussion points in the meeting
The staff are instructed to find a suitable carpenter to make ready the Learning Centre
Furniture’s (Corner Chairs, Toys, Rollers, etc.,) as guided and measured by Mr. Alex,
KDM Therapist,
The office documents are verified and instructed the staff to update and make it ready
always updated
Informed to the parent to find a Tailor for uniform stitching
The management found that the staff are not on time to the Learning Centre, so all are
instructed to record their in and out time in a register
Informed the staff find the cow feed (rice straw) in and around the service villages
with the help of the parents and volunteers
The financial crisis is explained to the staff and informed to found and increase the
local fundraising and parents contribution
The staff members are requested to increase the efficiency of work by increasing the
enrolment of the children, informed to visit the 8 wait listed children for their
enrolment and make a plan for vehicle pick up
The staff team members are instructed to make an evaluation of their past goal and
make a new goal and plan for each child before January Last.
The staff are instructed to avoid last minute permission leave for the normal leave,
and the staff members are informed to perform the maintenance works of the building,
teaching equipments and mobility equipments, office equipments and other materials
We planned to undergo the Building Painting works, School Van Back tyre retread
and name board banner replacement in the coming months.
The information shared to the staff members that we are planning to apply for the
Rice, Sugar, Wheat and other ration articles in a subsidy price from Government, for
which the staff members are requested to take care of the follow up activities properly

towards our activity October to December each month they contributed Rs 50,000/ towards
Hariksha project.
Differently abled day
International Day of Persons with Disabilities (December 3) is an international observance
promoted by the United Nations since 1992. In our Hariksha Learning Centre celebrate in
our centre, our children are performing two cultural programs. We arrange individual sweet
pack and distributed to all children.
Visitor
Mr. Alex from KDM visited in our HLC center to evaluated the last one year KDM training
provided to our staffs and parents, during his visit first 3 days observation to our HARIKSHA
LEARNING CENTRE day to day activity (during the observation he like to know the pickup
and drop the children, special education class activity, physiotherapy session, parents and
staff’s (kdm training) physiotherapy session, lunch session and also see the all the documents
we maintain in our centre,
Total 6 parent’s attended the KDM training, from them 3 parents has to come in a routine to
our centre to help our therapy session.
Other 3 parents has to work for the children lives in their community, 14 children (they were
not enrolled in our Hariksha Learning Centre). In this 2 parents are taking care of 10 children
and one parent taking care of 4 children; they go for the field weekly 3 days to give regular
therapy and position to the children,
November 2nd
Mr. Alex plan to visit the field to see the development of the children in the
field, towards this we took him to Edapattu and Melvayamoor Villages. These villages are
taken care by Mrs. Kala, she is taking care of 3 children in these villages, the children are
Kavya, Sarathy and Meganathan. Mr. Alex is visited the children during the scheduled day
and found the trained mother is giving therapy to these children, he gave some tips to
improvement. He also gone through the documentation file.
Mr Alex also participated the parents meeting, interact with parents about the children
development, also collected all the relevant data from staff and parents how many of the
children get regular therapy from filed and HLC centre
After final meeting with all parents he provided Rs 11,800/- towards children to buy the
material for the physiotherapy session two more Corner chair, two roller and some of toys
and pillows

Mr. Rajaram sir visited each class room special education class and therapy centre also
interact with children and staff for the current goals and pervious class activity, we explain
kathir, parameshwari,, goukulakannan, purosthaman,, shanthi, manikandhan, and ponmudi
interact with shopping session the children development state show to them during admission
time and at present stage, he also interact the children peryasamy, pusothaman, karthi,
kathiravan, elumali,mainkandahn,
Also show the vocation class student are well improved towards reading and writing the
normal school children book, he purchased, children made office cover for Rs. 200/- given to
center
DDAW officer visit
District Differently Abled Welfare Officer visited our HLC centre on 16th
November. The
officer ensured all the facilities, the number of the Children present, staff details and the
facilities provided to the Children. The officer verified the Attendance, Staff Attendance,
Admission Record, all School registers, monthly report, children quarterly report, evaluation
report, parents feedback, Physiotherapy reports, medical camp register’s show to the office
and signed in it.
During DDAWO visit we are discuses about the HLC
centre vocational activity about the cover making, personal
hygiene items, greeting card making also we are request the
some of our children still not received the Maintenance
grant and SSA requesting document related and sub centre
take our children during the officer visit time this are the
topic we share to DDAW activity,
RPWD ACT meeting
District Differently Abled Welfare Office, Villupuram, conducted the RPWD Act meeting on
22nd
to 24th
November, in this meeting our staff Ms. lavanya participated and learn the new
Act of the differently abled persons, this meeting conducted for the District Level Village
workers, SSA staff, special school teacher, nurse, doctors, self help group members.
In this training programme discussed about the different topics, how to identify the
differently abled person, under new act there are 21 type of disabilities clalssfications,
Government Schemes, RCI act details, Rehabilitation method, treatment, vocation skills,
employment opportunity and data for the differently abled persons living villupuram district.
Other activity
November month in our Hariksha Learning Centre, the children are made a kitchen garden
which consist of Ladies Finger, Brinjal, Drumstick, Papaya, Green Leaf, etc., which is used
as two purpose, one is to give the vocational activity to the elder children in agriculture and
the second is to use the fresh and natural vegetables greens to our food preparation itself.

Long absent and medical treatment
Karthi had frequent epilepsy problem, for which the parents treated in hospital, the doctors
increased the dosage of the medication, even though he got affected with convulsion often.
Due to this he is absent for two weeks.
A medical camp is conducted by the SSA Program of Memlayanoor. Doctors and the team is
arrived from Valathy Primary Health Centre. The doctors examined the children for the
opportunity sickness, general health status, height & weight of the children and other medical
assessment. Then they provided the necessary medication to the children.
Repair and maintains

Home management committee meeting contacted on 01st of November
On 19th
November Health inspector visited in our home inside and outside building to check
the hygienic as well as Mosquito (ATS) source and share some advice to keep clean the
fridge and water source area
On 11th
December RLC home management committee meeting contacted, and meeting
minutes submitted on the same day.
08th
December we got the letter from PO saying that every home need baby cradle in front of
the building the public use, the purpose of the cradle public can be use to leave their new
born babies instead of throwing in the bushes and road to save the babies from animal and
health issues. so we have installed the recommended cradle in our home to welcome or
receive the new born un wanted / abandoned / surrendered babies as guided by the
Government and the Photos are sent to the Probation Officer & District Child Protection
Office.
Also DCP office informed us to submit the Individual Child Care Plan - 1 format once again,
because they miss our old ICP – 1 format, so we have submitted again all the forms.
Every week Thursday we inspected our campus and gave assurance letter to the DCP office
that our home is clean and there is no ATS mosquito in and around our campus. (November
and December)

We have sent our proposal requesting contribution to Rainbow Life Children Home running
and routine expenses budget from Sitram Jindhal (MANAV JANRITI FOUNDATION)
foundation – Bangalore, they assured to support us with Rs 25,000/- for Rainbow Life
Children Home, they assured that they will pay it in two instalment, the 1st instalment Rs.
12,500/- is received on 07th
November, the second instalment will be avail after 6 months.

On 28th
January all the Rainbow Life Children Home is taken to the Government swimming

November KDM, France, volunteer Mr. Alex visited our Gingee home and spend his
time with them, during the visit we share our Home activity and vocational materials

November child line staff visit our home to celebrate children day with our women’s.
District Differently Abled Welfare Officer visited our home on 16th
November. The officer
ensured all the facilities, the number of the women’s present, staff details, the facilities
provided to the women’s. The officer verified the Attendance, Staff Attendance, Admission
Record, all home registers, and the monthly reports and signed in it.
On 25th

Vocational
In this 3 month in our women’s made personal hygenic materials (phenoil and bleaching
powder), also in this 3 month the girls Kiruba & Rohini are made 20 ear rings. December the
girls are trained to make greeting card and paper office cover. January month girls are trained
to make cotton roses and trained to cut the metal wire. January month girls make 25 cotton
rose and 35 no’s plastic rose.
Sports meet
On 30th
November sports meet is conducted in the District level in Ramakrishna Higher
Secondary school, villupuram, The District Authorities conducted various sports event,
Gingee home the girls Anitha, Geetha, Nithiya, Subashree, Ranjani, kanchana, Anuratha
participate the they win group game
Repaire and maintenance
December month we got new commercial gas connection for our women’s home.
January month we changed the new regulator and gas tube on 23.01.18.
