DESCRIPTION

Step by step with photos of wrapping hands form martial arts classes, in this case for Body Combat (where you won't hit actual people or things, but the wraps help you focus your punches). Hope it helps. Link to the video tutorial at the end of the slide.

Hand Wrapping for Body Combat

Starting Point

Watch your hand from that point

The back side of the wrap

The front side of the wrap

Step 1

Place the loop onto your thumb, making sure the wrap is faced down (the fornt of the wrap be at the front)

Step 2 – wrapping the wrist x 2

Then wrap the wrist around twice. Don’t have to be exactly same position, but keep it close.

Direction: from down left to up right.

Wrao the wrist 2 times!

Step 3 – wrap the thumb x 2

Step 3 – wrap the thumb x 2

On last slide you see the wrap goes a little higher around the hand first and the from down (front) it goes around the thumb and from this position it starts the 2nd thumb wrap (around the hand and around the thumb same way).

So wrap the hand-thumb 2 times!

Step 3 – wrap the thumb x 2

FROM NOW ON NEVER GO AROUND THE THUMB ANYMORE!

Step 4 – wrapping upper hand x3

Wrap from right front to left beneath the hand x3

Step 5 – go down and once around the wrist

3 times

Drag the wrap down across your hand and wrap 1 time around the wrist (from below).

Step 6 – Wrapping between fingers

1 full finger wrap: from behind of the hand, pull down to the wrist and from behind wrap it once around the wrist.

Step 7 – Wrapping Knucles

Having hand in that position make it into a fist to expose your knuckles more.

Step 7 – Wrapping Knucles

3

Wrap the knucles tight from the front right to left (behind the hand) and then drag it from between the fingers and thumb down. Use the thumb to help hold the wrap so it won’t loosen.

Step 8 – Final wrapping of the wrist

Drag down and wrap around the wrist (going a little down with each wrap, or later a littl e up if neccessary) as many times as needed.

The closing

Step 9 - Closing

The closing might be on any side of the hand – don’t worry. Usually it should be on the back of it. Put the sticky end under the black loop so that it won’t distract you later.
