Background of HDC
The Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC) is
an initiative by the Malaysian Government to ensure
the integrated and comprehensive development of
the Halal Industry.
Established on September 18, 2006 as a private
company wholly owned by the Government of
Malaysia through the Ministry of Finance.
The organisation is currently placed under the
Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI).
HDC is the first Development Corporation for the
Halal industry in the world.
