• Established in 1990, Gürmetal is Turkey’s leading investment casting company with

strong track record in steel , stainless steel , aluminum as well as titanium and nickel

based super alloy cast parts

• Gürmetal’s target sectors are aerospace , energy , healthcare and automotive

• Gürmetal moved to its new , modernized 7500 m2 manufacturing facility in 2009 and

9000 m2 manufacturing facility for vacuum casting production in 2016

• Gürmetal was founded by Dr. Eng. Gursel Yardimci who introduced investment casting

to Turkey during the early 1980s , after completion of his Ph.D in the field of investment

casting at Munich Technical University in Germany

• Total staff of the company is 240 , including 20 engineers and 30 quality personnel

• Gürmetal management decided to develop in-house machining

capabilities with the aim of delivering finished parts

• Gürmetal has started building its machining capabilities with the

addition of three machining centers and five machining experts

during 2014

NEW INVESTMENTS AT GÜRMETAL

• Gürmetal has been working to develop vacuum casting capabilities since

2011 to expand its offering in the aerospace sector with higher value

added products

• In 2012 , Gürmetal management decided to invest in both Titanium and

Nickel (superalloy) vacuum casting. Construction of a new 9000 m2

production facility was initiated in 2013

• In 2016 , Gürmetal installed three vacuum casting furnaces:

• 50 kg Titanium vacuum casting furnace for small parts

• 200 kg Titanium vacuum casting furnace for more complex parts

• 200 kg Nickel (superalloy) vacuum casting furnace

• Gürmetal is already engaged in projects with various parties for the

production of Titanium and Nickel (equiax , DS and SX) cast parts

• Gürmetal has engaged European experts for the timely introduction of

necessary casting capabilities at highest quality level

• Related NADCAP applications already done

• January 2017, Chemical Milling (obtained in February 2017)

• March 2017, Radiography (X-Ray)

NEW PRODUCTION PLANT

After purchasing the new land , we have constructed a new production plant for vacuum casting – the new facility has 9000 m2 closed area

TITANIUM CASTING – 50 kg

• 50 kg Titanium vacuum casting furnace

has been installed at Gürmetal’s new

factory as of February 2015

• Furnace will be used in casting of

structural parts

TITANIUM CASTING – 200 kg

• 200 kg Titanium vacuum casting furnace

has been installed in 2016

• The casting capacity of the furnace is up

to 1,4m in diameter , 1,4m height and 100

kg net weight with possibility of

centrifugal casting

• This furnace will be used for the casting

of an engine front frame as part of an

R&D project with TEI (GE’s partner in

Turkey)

NICKEL VACUUM CASTING – 200 kg

• 200 kg Nickel vacuum casting

furnace with 25 , 50 , 100 and 200

kg melting coils has been installed

in 2016

• The casting capacity of the

furnace is up to 1m in diameter ,

1,4m height and 100 kg net

weight

• This furnace will cast IGT gas

turbine blades and aerospace

parts including DS (directional

solidification) and SX (single

crystal) Technologies
