TRANSCRIPT
Aisha recently developed a program, called 'What is in aname?", in an attempt to provide a framework for schools tobegin to address the lack of black history in the currentcurriculum. Teachers reported to Aisha that they were very keen to add'colour' in to the curriculum and support the 'decolonisationof the curriculum' agenda, however, many cited capacity andknowledge as a barrier to change. Project details: This project was a pilot in phase one of thedevelopment of the One Bristol Curriculum. Pilot wasdelivered in tree Bristol schools. Aisha is now in the process of developing phase two! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9YA4geZw_A (Video 1)https://youtu.be/aB889cAYwKg (Video 2)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAFRqelKNqI&t=12s(Video 3)

" I really enjoyed the interactivity of this session with the videos andquestions we had to answer. It was very eye-opening thinking aboutthe diversity in my placement school and really made me think aboutthe lack of teachers from ethnic minorities. I also now understand theimportance of representing all societies in my classroom to show thateveryone has a value and can contribute equally to society."University of Bristol -April 2020
