PC or Mac can be used in these classes Desktop or laptop Some electives require that you be able to

run Adobe programs if you plan to do the coursework on your own computer. Go to adobe.com for system requirements.

Week 3 - CAS 101

Adobe Creative Cloud (optional)◦ Dreamweaver◦ Photoshop◦ Edge

Open-Source Software◦ WordPress, Joomla, Drupal (CMS programs)◦ Komodo Edit, Sublime, TextWrangler, Brackets,

Notepad++ (Text Editors)◦ GIMP (Graphics Editor)

Browsers◦ Chrome, Firefox, IE, Safari, Opera

Nothing “required” – students provided with server space on the SWS for each class◦ Directories wiped clean at the end of each term◦ NOT permanent storage

Optional: Register a Domain Name and sign up for a hosting account◦ Host Pond, HostGator, iPage, BlueHost, GoDaddy,

etc.◦ Can use for many classes throughout the term◦ Can use to showcase your websites throughout your

time here at PCC – and beyond.◦ If you are serious about website development and

design – you should have a hosting account.

Graduation Requirements & Academic Decisions (GRAD) Plan

Web-based tool that allows you to:◦ Track your progress towards completing degree

requirements◦ Complete “what-if” scenarios for different degrees and

certificates◦ Calculate grade point averages

Use in addition to meeting with an Advisor (NOT in place of!)

If you are currently “Undeclared” or have a different degree/major listed use “What If”.

Before an academic advising session. Prior to registration, use it to “Look Ahead”

and plan courses for a future term. After registration, confirm that courses

selected complete the necessary requirements.

Prior to changing your degree/major.

Before applying for graduation, review your degree requirements.
