Arts Gowanus is a not-for-profit organization working to support, promote, and advocate for local artists and a sus-tainable arts community.

Arts Gowanus accomplishes this by nurturing relation-ships between individual artists, arts organizations, and the broader community through various programs:

• Gowanus Open Studios event held annually in October.

• Artist-to-artist networking meetings, professional work-shops, and artistic collaborations.

• Art events, business-artist collaborations, and community service activities in the greater Gowanus community.

• Sharing and promoting arts activities that are being organized by Gowanus artists and organizations to the public at large.

• Influencing and recommending policy to protect afford-able work spaces for artists.

Gowanus Open Studios 2017 celebrates the 21st consec-utive event with over 350 participating artists. Originally organized by a small group of artists, Arts Gowanus is now a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Support for our work comes from individuals, businesses, government, and foundations.
