Every type of government has its own pros and cons. Its up to the people to decide how they

want their government to govern.

Monarchy

The rule or the power of the government is in the hands of an

individual who has inherited the role and expects to bequeath it to his/her

descendents.

Queen Elizabeth

DespotismThe form of government where the power is in the

hands of a single leader. He/she rules over the entire population and all his or her subjects are

considered to be his or her slaves.Pharaoh Egypt

DictatorshipA ruler who has complete power over a country. When the power of the government does not come from the people, is unlimited and tends to expand their scope of

power to control every aspect of people’s life.Hitler

Oligarchy

The form of government where a small group has the power to

govern or rule.

Plutocracy

A form of government, which is run by the rich.

DemocracyA form of government that is of the people, by the people and for the people. Allows people to choose

representatives who are given the right to form the government.

United States

Communist Government

A form of government in which the state is governed by a one-party

system. The governing party claim to be working on behalf of the working class or peasantry.

Everyone gets the sameno class system

Theocracy

A form of government that is ruled by the religious elite

Socialism

A social system in which the producers possess both political

power and the means of producing and distributing goods

Federal

A form of government in which a union of states recognizes the

sovereignty of a central authority while retaining certain residual

powers of government
