Lincoln Public creates user accounts for each student using their Student ID

Passwords are simple, unique, and easy for our younger kids to memorize

I create business cards or labels for each child to help with memorization

Students can easily search for other LPS users, but can also import fellow classmates into their contacts

Create a Folder and using the pop down menu, choose share.

Option 1: You can specify that anyone with the link can access/view/edit the files within the folder

OR

Option 2: You can invite people using their email address to access/view/edit.

I created folders for each of the grade level teachers whose students would be accessing Google Drive regularly. You can see easily which folders have been shared and which haven’t.

Another challenge of course is the ridiculously long URL that Google gives you to share the document. I use the Google Chrome browser and installed the SHORTEN ME extension. The icon is 3 dots. When I am on the document I simply click on the 3 dot icon and a short URL is automatically created and copied to my clipboard. This can easily be shared with anyone via link or QR code. Both are provided.

A great feature with great possibilities…..with a little risk thrown in.

School filters will not work when using the Research Tool.
