Getting to the library

http://library.mst.edu

To find books, use the MERLIN Library Catalog

Perform your search

Note the format icons

To access an e-book, click on the title…

…then click on the Missouri S&T link.

For print books, you’ll get the location and whether it’s checked out.

To expand your search to all four University of Missouri campuses, change “Missouri S&T” to

“All MERLIN”.

You cannot access e-books owned by other campuses.

Use the “Request” button to receive print books from other campuses.

Choose to log in with your campus username.

Choose MST as your pickup location…

…and submit. Your book should be here in 3-4 business days, and you’ll receive an email

notification on its arrival.

For more book options, return to the home page and search the MOBIUS Library Catalog. This searches over 60 libraries throughout the

state.

As with MERLIN, you can’t access other libraries’ e-books.

The request procedure works the same as with MERLIN.

To find journals, start with the A-Z list.

Search for the journal title.

If we have an electronic subscription, you’ll see the date range available and a link to the

journal.

Click on the title…

…and possibly again…

…until you get to the journal’s record. This will tell you what years the library has in print.

If we don’t have it locally, do not go to All MERLIN. Go to Interlibrary Loan.

Interlibrary Loan is not connected to your campus ID. On your first use, you must set up an

account.

Once logged in, choose the type of material you’re requesting...

…then fill in the citation information and submit.

For recommended databases, check the Research Guides linked from the library’s home

page.

There is also a directory of all the library’s databases.

Some databases contain some full text.

When an article isn’t available inside a database, the Get It @ MST! Button will try to

connect you to the full text within another subscription.

If it is available elsewhere, you’ll be given a link.

If not, you’ll be given options to search the catalog for print or to place an Interlibrary Loan

request.
