APEL AND THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION’SNEW PRODUCT EVALUATION MERGE OF PROCESSES

38

The GDOT is in the process of reviewing how the APEL process can be used for the submittal of New Products. Currently, GDOT uses the GDOT Guidelines and Form (Application). GDOT is in the process of merging the GDOT Guidelines with the use of the APEL process.

BENEFITS

Using APEL for New Product submittals will allow manufacturers to reach more states with one application. APEL allows for AASHTO members and manufacturers to review the new product classifications from other AASHTO members.
