Seeing the Bigger PictureThe Green Network is an ambitious 20 year programme,
which will link parks, walkways, woodlands and countryside
along miles of path and cycle routes bringing a range of
social, economic and environmental benefits to the Glasgow
metropolitan region.
Our Vision is for a transformed environment which improves
lives and communities and lets business flourish.
The Green Network Partnership hasidentified four key themes that representthe range of beneficial outcomes impliedby the Green Network Vision:

People will benefit from theGreen Network because itprovides safe, attractive andclean environments in whichto exercise and relax, andwhich increase local pride and community spirit.
Creating linked-up wildlife havens
The Green Network willbenefit people, wildlife and the environment by providinglinked-up habitats acrossthe metropolitan area,reducing human impact on the environment andprotecting urban populationsfrom the worst effects ofclimate change.
Boosting local economies
The Green Network willbenefit the economy byproviding attractive locationsfor business investment,tourism, staff recruitment andretention. It will also providenew opportunities forbusinesses to create andmanage the Green Network,and to develop a trained andskilled workforce.
