A Night of Gypsy Jazz Tcha Limberger Trio and Rose Room
Undeniably the most loved and respected Gypsy musician on the planet, violin superstar Tcha Limberger, was recently accorded the title by The Times “virutoso King of Gypsy music”. Born into a renowned family of Manouche musicians, he grew up mixing swinging Reinhardt classics with traditional European Gypsy repertoire. He’s an extraordinary musician, blind from birth, but with an amazing capability to communicate. Tonight he makes his Dundee debut.
Opening the show are Scotland’s superstars of gypsy swing, Rose Room, fronted by fiddle player and sophisticated songstress, Seonaid Aitken; who also combine brilliant musicianship and warm personality. The quartet – real Festival favourites - recreate the excitement of Rive Gauche Paris of the 30s and 40s with Stephane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt. “Stupendous gypsy jazz, and a superb singer” (Scotsman).
