The expert invited for this session was Mr. Jaydeep Trivedi experienced in CFD training and services. He has served as a Senior Manager, R & D at Jyoti Ltd., Baroda. The session was held to introduce various software used in CFD analysis, its application in the modern world. The expert basically covered general usage of CFD; he showed the presentations of different models of automobiles, aerodynamic shapes, flow patterns, boundary layer formation and turbulence region over and around the moving body.
The seminar basically on Various Career Opportunity after completion of BE. In this our HOD Dr. Darshak Desai sir introduced us with path available for our next step towards future. He said there are basically three paths that can be followed. These are Job, Self-employment and PG. For job he showed us many way to get good knowledge even after our completion of BE. He said that there are many ways of learning like working in Core industry, etc. He also discussed the pros and cons of being employed in small, medium, core and multinational companies. For Self Employment there are also two paths. One that we can follow is to join in our family business. For that he suggested a good institute and their branches. And another path is to become entrepreneur or other mean start-up. For that he also gave motivation. For PG, Sir shown that there are two possibilities. One is M.E./M.Tech and another MBA. He said that both are giving us more than enough opportunity to grow our self. He also showed us various colleges with their uniqueness.

Non-destructive testing (NDT) is a wide group of analysis techniques used in science and industry to evaluate the properties of a material, component or system without causing damage. As NDT does not permanently alter the article being inspected, it is a highly-valuable technique that can save both money and time in product evaluation, troubleshooting, and research. The workshop started with introduction of Non-Destructive Test and finally to various application in Industries. Mr.Krutik Shah was the resource person who is highly experienced person in the area of NDT training and services. He has served National and International industries in this area. The session was held in Seminar Hall, GCET. Altogether 60 Students had participated in this Workshop. The participants were from UG as well as PG students. Some faculty members also attended the workshop. There was practical session also Conducted.
ASME Students Section celebrated Engineer’s Day on 15th September, 2017. Three Technical and two Non-technical events were organized along with Poster competition. Total 200 students registered for the participation in the event from various branches of GCET. One invited lecture of Prof. Samir Shah was also organized entitled “Campus to Corporate”. All students participated in these events enthusiastically. ASME students’ section team, event coordinators and volunteers work very well for successful event. Faculty members of the department played a role of supporter and evaluator of the events. Dr. Himanshu Soni (Principal) and Dr. Darshak Desai (Head of the Department) greet the students on this auspicious Engineers’ day.
