Proposition

Ki Work will provide managed services

to a consortium of – third sector organisations – unitary authorities – green and socially responsible SMEs

to address the issue of unemployed

youth in Scotland through the Future

Jobs Fund (FJF) and other funding.

FJF parameters

• £1 billion funding for 150k jobs in

the UK

• helping 18 - 24 year old unemployeds

• 15k jobs for Scotland, 3k allocated to

date

• £6,500 subsidy per job

• minimum bid: 30 jobs

FJF primary criteria

• six months/25 hours per week average

• does not displace other jobs

• either over 12 months unemployed or in

an unemployment hotspot

• work done will benefit local

communities

• work will be under way quickly

Enhancing bid prospects

• mitigating unit cost from the FJF– cost per job– alignment with other sources of funding

• increasing potential for long term employment– quality of the job– training & development– likelihood of further employment

Challenges for employers

– substantial coaching, mentoring & training

– payroll, admin & management support

• employers lack

– skills, resources & time

– ability/willingness to commit to 30+ jobs

– experience in formulating proposal

• phone & field advisory services

• help desk, payroll, admin & management

• fractional work marketplace & placement

services
