FRONTIERS REPORT

I am opportuned to be part of the Frontier Supervisory skill development programme pioneer. I have been able to develop skills in identifying safety implications of all actions, effective communication strength on the job, merits of visible felt leadership, conflict resolutions and team building.At the moment, I am more familiar with the concerns of regular safety violators through one on one discussions. I always ensure reasons for safety are well cascaded, understood and within a sustainable illustrations. I am able to achieve this by not turning blind eye to wrong actions and publicly appraising good deeds amongst contractors and staff colleagues.There are commendable improvements in risk assessment quality, follow up feedback on job progress of agreed actions and alignments.Gradually, attitudes and team member contributions are changing for good and excellence.

I and my coach Mr. Yakub Ibrahim identified the need to improve safety discussions with contractors and staffs of packing plant as start up of cascading the need for compliance and correcting violations. He emphasized the need to encourage drivers, contractors and staffs to imbibe safety culture both on site and at home.He encouraged me to always show leadership by example, encourage, explain reasons for compliance compliance by not just punishing violators.

Daily huddle with the shift team ensures feedback in order to brainstorm, plan and time actions for corrections.

Conflicts resolution between drivers, contractors and staffs are now made easy.I ensure all conflicts amongst colleagues(drivers, contractor and staffs) are resolved and closed out.

It is important to plan for every activity of the day giving specific priorities to specific tasks. Using the board makes the goals visible to all.
