Embedding the language

Use the French day of the week classroom signs (on the website) and ask pupils to pick the correct one each day.

Sample activities You will find a bank of sample activities which you can use to practise the vocabulary in the classroom.

This is not a prescriptive list of activities and you can use or adapt them to suit the needs of your class.

You will find a set of more challenging activities in First Level Greetings.

• Pupils should look at the slides, listen to the day of the week in French and try and match the day of the week to the correct word in English.

• You could support this further by using day of the week fans so that pupils could do their own individual version.
