Planning your time?

11

Time is an illusion, lunch time doubly so … Douglas Adams

Planning your time…

• You will need to be disciplined• This may seem obvious, however it isn’t

• You should expect … • To spend at least 3-5 hours per week• To plan to attend the Monday sessions or plan to watch

the recordings (1 hour)• That some weeks take longer than others so estimate 3

hours, that could be more.• To take the chapter exam as part of your studies (1 hour)• Your mind to expand as you study this content• To set aside time – do be disciplined – it works best if you

study in organized blocks of time

12

Study tips …

Planning your time…

• Take notes – copy/paste relevant clever bits into notepad/word

• Keep a log of what you have done – make a note of where you have left off

• If you are on a roll – run with it• If you are tired – stop• Take breaks, drink plenty, play some music in

the background• It is self paced do not panic if you think others

are ahead, we have given you time to catch up

13

Engage!

14

discussion forum within the Netacad class• This is mainly supported by volunteers –

please be patient with us

15

• As well as looking after the discussions, we will participate

• Kevin will be delivering a weekly session via FBL

• Slides and useful content will be shared within the netacad class

• And of course, monitor your general progress

19

Packet Tracer Skillsand doing labs?

20

Labs

Packet Tracer Skills

• Do not bother with the in class practical labs• You can do these any other time

• However, you must attempt some of the Packet Tracer activities at the end of the chapters – we cannot police these, yet you know that we will be giving you an activity to complete

• Lets look at Packet Tracer

21

Assessment?

22

Chapter exams

Assessment

• Quizzes are optional• Chapter Exams are essential as these prepare

you for the final examination• There is a pre-test, this is optional • You can take the chapters whenever you like• You can have multiple attempts – we WILL NOT

grade you on these
