The Pastels of Francis J. QuirkFrancis Quirk was a nationally renowned artist who worked out of Pennsylvania, Arizona and Maine. He won prestigious fellowships through the Louis Comfort Tiffany and Ossabaw Island Foundations. The RISD graduate exhibited and won prizes at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Provincetown Art Association, Providence Art Club and the Old Orchard Art Association. His works are in the Collections of the National Portrait Gallery and other Museums, University Collections and many private collectors.

IntroductionIn seeking to bring this lost master back into the light, I have begun building an image library of his work. This slideshow contains just the pastels that I have been able to find as of February 2017. It includes many unfinished works and studies that were sold as part of an estate sale in September 2016. These were included as they can provide insights as to his working methods. Where possible I have included some additional commentary to provide basic information.
