Time Management“The only thing even and equal in this world is the number of hours in a day. The difference in winning or losing is what you do with those hours.”

…Woody Hayes, Football Coach

The Law of Forced Efficiency There is never enough time to do

everything, but there is always enough time to do the most important thing.

The Tough Question

What prevents us from completing the MOST

important things?

The Best Time Management Tool

A B C D E Method

A = Absolutely DoB = Better DoC = Could DoD = DelegateE = Eliminate

WHAT IS YOUR Hourly Rate?

Is it a $100/hour task or $8/hour task?

Determine Priorities

• Start with A-1….and do nothing else until it is done then A-2; A-3; A-4….

• Ask yourself throughout the day…. Is this the most important thing I can be

doing, right now, to achieve my goals?

Plan Your Day

For every 1 minute spent in planning you will save 10 minutes in activity

Plan Your Day

Set aside time each day to plan

Plan Your Day Exercise• 2-3 minutes write down all the tasks you need to complete by the

end of today• 2-3 minutes go through and put A, B, C, D, E by each• 2-3 minutes prioritize A’s, B’s, C’s ; note who you will delegate the

D’s to; cross out the E’s• Turn to person on the right and take 1 minute each to share what is

the most important thing you will complete, first, when you leave.

IF YOUR ANSWER IS….NO!
