Senior Clerkship - Junior Internship (JI) In Medicine (MED1-3002)

• Required Don’t confuse with JI Any in Medicine

Can do Med ICU or Ward

• More experience in patient care

• Available in Memphis, Chattanooga, Knoxville, and Nashville

• No written examination

• Evaluation based on clinical performance

Senior Clerkship - JI ANY

• Required

• FM, Med, Neuro, Ob, Peds, Psych, Sur

• Includes: EM at St. Francis for FM

ICU, EM, Cardiology and Heme/Onc in Med

Ob or Gyn

Adv Surgery, Trauma and SICU in Surg

Psych - Adult and Addiction No Child Psych

• Evaluation based on Clinical performance

Surgery Specialties Clerkship (SUR1-3002)Required

(“Surgical Subs”)

• Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, and Urology

One week of each

• Memphis – NOT available Blocks 1, 6, 12

• Knoxville – available all blocks

• Chattanooga – available Blocks 4, 10

• No absences for interviews

• 12 encounters, 15 min with SP, 10 min for write-up

Step 2 CS (cont’d)

• Cost - $1075 (plus expenses)

• Schedule early

• One-year eligibility

• Can switch dates without charge 14 days prior

• Sept.- Dec. high demand time period

• Have to pass all three components of exam (ICE,

CIS and SEP)

CS Housing Options

• AAMC has negotiated favorable hotel rates in each of the five cities. (approx. $95-$150)

• May include pick up at the airport and transportation to and from the testing center.
