The SIES College of Management Studies (SIESCOMS) was established in 1995. SIESCOMS
envisages providing quality Management education for the nascent professionals, the dynamic
future managers for 21st century. SIESCOMS’s foundation maps its roots to rich tradition of South
India Education Society (SIES), one of the oldest and value-based educational trusts that runs a
number of educational institutes in the city of Mumbai. Located at a sprawling campus at Nerul,
the academic hub of Navi Mumbai, SIESCOMS boasts of one of the best physical infrastructure
befitting a modern b-school.
Ever since its inception, academic programs of the institute enjoy full support and patronage of
corporate sector and other stakeholders. Today SIESCOMS holds a place of distinction among
premier business schools in India. It is the first b-school in the country to start an exclusive
vertical MBA program for pharmaceutical industry. Similarly, it is one of the few b-schools to
conceive a vertical program for the biotech sector. The program for NGO sector is the other
unique initiative. Another milestone includes being recipient of the ISO 9001:2008 Certification
for quality management education as well as Ramakrishna Bajaj National Quality (RBNQ) award
for the year 2008 in the “Education” category which is developed on the lines of the Malcolm-
Balridge National Quality Award.
A highly committed group of qualified and experienced faculty enjoying respect and recognition
in academic community and corporate sector forms an enviable part of our academic team.
Majority of them have managerial experience and continue to maintain close links with outside
organizations through consulting and research. They are thus adept at bridging the gap between
theory and practice. Our faculties have drawn on their passion for teaching, their experience in
working with organizations worldwide, and insights gained from their research to educate
generations of leaders who have shaped practice of business in every industry. The core faculty
base 23 is supplemented with over 15 visiting faculty from the corporate world.
Research is at the core of SIESCOMS. The institute is also known for being one of the most innovative business schools always doing something new and creative, either in product or process. Result has been obvious - in almost all the major ratings (Outlook, Business India &
9
Business World), SIESCOMS has always figured among top business schools. Similarly, placement track record has always been phenomenal. The Institute has a strong corporate networking and is engaged in organizing a number of Management Development Programs (MDPs) and Consultancy Activities. Some of the corporate clients with whom the institute has close relationship in recent times in this regard include Aatomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Ispat Industries, Kotak Securities, Reliance Infocomm, The Shipping Corporation India, Thyssenkrupp Steel India, among others.
