What are aqueducts?

Aqueducts are bridges or viaducts containing and transporting water from one place to another over gaps such as valleys.

Some famous Aqueducts

Aqueduct of Segovia; it was 16km long and it ran from Frío River to Segovia in Spain.

The first Roman Aqueduct was Aqua Appia, it was 10 miles long.

Les Ferreres Aqueduct; it Is 15km long and ran from the Francoli Water to the City of Taronga in Spain.

Caesarea Aqueduct; it was 10km long and it ran from some springs 10km away to the city of Caesarea in Israel.

Are aqueducts still used today?Aqueducts are not used in many countries today however in Rome they are used a lot. Although aqueducts were not invented by the romans, romans still use them the most now. Aqueducts are often referred to as “Roman Aqueducts” because the romans used the aqueducts most.

Who invented aqueducts?

Many people think that It was the Ancient Romans that invented aqueducts, it was actually the Ancient Assyrians who invented them. Although the romans use(d) them the most and are one of the few place that use(d) them, they didn’t invent them.
