Study Halls

Students will be able to schedule one period of study hall per semester

Study hall is NOT required but encouraged for 9th grade year

Be aware that the transition to high school is sometimes a tough one. With the added extracurriculars, study hall could help.

It is highly recommended that you make a 4 year plan.

It is good to figure out where you want to end up and that will tell you where to begin.

NAVIANCE program to help with this

PE, Health, & Financial Literacy

PE Waiver- Students may be excused from the PE requirement by participating in:

2 years of ROTC or 2 full seasons of sports/band

If you choose the PE Waiver, you will take Health and Financial Literacy your 9th grade year

Athletics

To be eligible for fall sports, you must be passing 5 classes at the end of the 4th quarter of your 8th grade year

Today – Overview of high school, receive Scheduling Worksheets and answer questions

February 22nd -Turn in Scheduling Worksheets to homeroom teacher

February 24th, 25th & 26th – One-on-one enter schedule with HS counselors

April & May - HS counselors will be back down to answer any questions

Mid May: a list of classes is sent home in the mail for one final examination

Last day to request a schedule change is the last day of school, June 3rd

The request must be submitted prior to this date BUT the change may happen in the summer.
