President’s Message ToallmyfriendsatFPQG:IhopeallofyouhaveagreatholidayseasonwithlotsofthethreeF’s:Family,FunandFood!Firstofall,IamveryproudofalltheparticipationanddonationthatcamefromyouwhenIcalledforsomeearlyChristmasgivingforthefamilyinneed.WesawtheMartinezfamilygetsomebeds,furniture,somehouseholditemsandavarietyofotheritemstohelpthemgetsettledmorecomfortablyintheirnewsurroundings.Thankyousomuch!WhenIvisitedwithMartinez,Ifoundthatsheactuallyhasatotalof4childrenwhostaywithhermostofthetime.:twoboys,2and5yearsoldandtwogirls,4and15yearsold.MythoughtwasthatwewouldcollectthemoneyyouallwantedtodonateattheDecembermeetingandthensomeofuswouldgoshoppingfortheirneedsandwants.Allofthemneedwarmcoatsforwinter,andtheremayalsobeotherthingsthatareneededforthehouse,sowecanseewhatwegetandwhatisdoable.Eachchildwouldalsogetatoyortwo.PleaseremembertobringyourdonationstotheDecembermeeting.Onasecondnote,Iwantedtoencourageyoualltomakesomething“handmade”foryourfamilythisChristmas.Ihaveinthepastoftenhadahardtimefiguringoutwhattogivesomeofmyfamilyandfriendsbecauseitseemsmostpeoplehavesomuch.Onethingtheyusuallydon’tgetissomethinghandmadewithlove!AsachildIalwayswantedmoneygifts,whichIhardlyevergot,andnowIknowwhymyfamilymembersdidnotwanttogivemoney.IrememberabsolutelynothingaboutthemoneygiftsthatIdidget!ButtherearemanyothergiftsthatIdorememberquiteclearly,andIcansay:“AuntGretagavemethatoneyearformybirthday”and“UncleFinngavemethatforgraduation.“Attachedtothosegifts,therearetreasuredmemoriesaboutthepeoplewholovedmeandgiftedme.SoherearesomesuggestionsforthingsIhavethoughtofmakingforfamilymembersthatwouldbereceivedverywell,especiallywhentheyknowthatyouhavethoughtaboutthemformanyhourswhilemakingit:treeskirts,Christmas stockings(youcanfillthemuptoo,ifyoulike,withgoodies)aprons,quiltedsofapillows,tablerunners,placemats,quilts,wallhangings,ropebaskets(filledwithlotions,soapsetc.),coasters,knittedwoolbooties,tonamea
