1. Determine your HP requirement
using the ollowing equation:
For preliminary sizing, use 90% orthe mechanical eciency, then adjustbased on actual eciency o pumpselected.
2. Determine the duty cycle o yourapplication. Continuous Dutyis described as 8 hours or moreoperation per day, daily or extendedperiods o time.
3. Find the Pump Series under the rstcolumn with a HP rating that meetsor exceeds the conditions o yourapplication. Continuous HP is listedrst. Intermittent HP is listed second.
4. Scan down the Rated Pressurecolumn in the Pump Series selecteduntil you nd the last model whosemaximum pressure rating exceeds themaximum pressure required by yourapplication.
5. Check the appropriate capacitycolumn (Continuous Duty Capacityor Intermittent Duty Capacity) todetermine i the pump you selected
meets the fow requirements o yourapplication. I not, go to the nextlarger pump series and repeat Steps4 & 5.
6. Determine the speed at which thepump will need to operate to producethe desired fow.
