State Safety Office Our Mission
Our mission is to continually improve the safety of users of Florida's highway system, and the safety of Department employees.
Our Goals Decrease the frequency, rate, and severity of, and potential for, crashes involving motor vehicles, pedestrians, and bicycles on public roads in Florida through the implementation of comprehensive safety programs involving engineering, enforcement, education and/or emergency services.
Provide procedures, training and awareness activities that foster safe work practices and workplaces for Department employees.
Traffic Engineering and Operations Office The State Traffic Engineering and Operations Office provides support and expertise in the application of traffic engineering principles and practices to improve safety and mobility.
Does not include Consultant Staff support for ITS, ITS Communication, CVO & IM Programs
