Join a FamilyHave a support system to help you through the semester.

• A mix of members from different majors and different years with whom you’ll form close family bonds.

• Get help in classes, advice about the DAT, and most importantly, a handful of friends.

• Sign up online to be placed in your family unit and be prepared to have lots of fun.

•The success of this program depends on member interest and involvement. If there is not substantial interest we may not proceed with this idea.

Dental School TripsTake a tour of what might be your future home.

• We will be visiting all three Texas dental schools!

• UTHSC-SA: Pending, likely early March

• Baylor: Pending, likely mid-March

Mentorship ProgamJust watch and learn.

• We have roughly 40 spots open with more being added every day

• Sign up online to be considered for placement with a dentist. Members are assigned dentists based on payment of dues, seniority, semesters in TPS, and response time.

• No, you don’t need a car. But you will probably need to take the bus, though it won’t be very far.

shift with openings at this point is from 5-8pm.

Donate your time to help someone else.

• Reagan HS TAKS Tutoring takes place weekdays from 4-6pm. The school is at Cameron Rd. and E. St. John’s

• We’ll continue PIP Start but can only take a maximum of 5 people, experience preferred

• Teach science experiments to elementary school kids at Young Scientists on Fridays (starting 2/11) from 12-2:15pm at Walnut Creek Elementary School, located at N. Lamar and W. Braker

• The Austin Clubhouse, which provides assistance in recovery from mental illness, is looking for a maximum of 4 volunteers. Talk to Dana after the meeting if you might be interested.

• Tabling will occur Monday-Wednesday of meeting weeks only until mid-late March

• Sign ups are based on a Volunteer Spot calendar, which will be linked on our website

• J. Houston Elementary requested that we come and talk about dental health to their kindergarten classes

• Thursday 2/24 from 12-2:30pm; school is located atI35 S. and E. Stassney

• About half of the classes are bilingual. If you speak Spanish, WE NEED YOU!

• Carpools will be arranged

• Look forward to fully integrated sign ups, an “Academics” section, an “Alumni” section, more information about dentistry in general, recent photos, up-to-date event calendars, and more!

• Form study groups for your classes by signing up online. If more than one person is interested in starting a group for a class you entered, you

will be notified by Beatriz and a study group will be set up.• Come to DAT reviews every other week, facilitated by Juri. She will

create a friendly and welcoming environment where you can study in a collaborative fashion. Bring your own study materials and have

questions ready.
