Fire Awareness Training ProgrammeConducted by

Ceasefire Industries Ltd.

Need Of Training

Every year thousands of offices, shops and factories are gutted by fire.

Most of these had fire extinguishers installed.

BUT

Statistic says that even the most advanced fire fighting equipment is greatly hampered when the user is

“untrained”

And

“lack of training” is found a biggest fire risk.

What is Fire?

Chemistry of Fire Fire is a chain chemical reaction in which combustible materials combine with oxygen in the atmosphere to give out heat.

Solids, Liquids or gases ( Wood, petrol, or LPG)

Fuel + Heat +Air = Fire

Ignition source : such as cooking, smoking, electrical equipment

Oxygen in

atmosphere

Classes of Fire

Class A Materials like wood, paper, cloth, etc. Class B Inflammable liquids like petrol, kerosene

& organic solvents Class C Domestic & Industrial gases like LPG,

CNG, Butane, Propane, etc.

ESF Electrically started fire which occur due

to short circuits, overloads, etc. & lead to other classes of fire by sparks falling on burning material

Class F Cooking oils used in Kitchen.

Classifications of Fire is based on Classifications of Fire is based on “Fuel”“Fuel”

Stages of Fire

Stage I : IGNITION - the only stage when a fire extinguisher can be used.

Stage II: CRITICAL - Fires move and grow rapidly….Portable as well as Trolly Mounted Fire Extinguishers are required to fight it.

Stage III – BLAZE - Where only Watermist, Hydrants, Sprinkler Systems and the Fire Brigade can help.

Class A 3- 10 mins. 10 mins. + Class B 0 – 1 mins. 1mins. + Class C 0 – 30 secs. 30 secs. + ESF Time cannot be estimated as it

depends on the thickness of the fuse wire, condition of the wire and it’s load taking capacity – leads to a fire in another class – generally “Class A”

The following box illustrates the time periods taken by various classes of fires to reach their Critical / Blaze Stages

Thus it is obvious, that in any case one gets at the most a time period of 3 minutes to detect a fire and Extinguish.

Beyond that time, it is only a recovery operation that can be undertaken.

BETTER the DESIGN to

The CeasefireCeasefire Extinguisher’s basic positioning was –

1. Activation within the first few seconds &

2. Can be used by untrained people

The Ceasefire R&D Team ventured full throttle into developing Ceasefire extinguishers which would complement the need of this segment

• The past being the precedent for our future, the

potential is immense.

• The completeness of our range, superiority of Ceasefire and our ability to provide quality and reliable services puts us way above the other players in this industry.
