Finding Journals on TexShare using EBSCO

Log into TexShare

Go to: www.libraryoftexas.org/texshareLogin to TexShare with your user name

and password.Get your ID

& Password fromyour local library!

TexShare

TexShare contains many useful databases.EBSCO indexes journals, encyclopedias

and many full text books, so you can access and read these online, at home.

I’ll use finding Consumer Reports as an example.

Choose EBSCO MasterFile

Consumer Reports is one of many periodicals and journals indexed by EBSCO MasterFile Premier.

Click on EBSCO MasterFile Premier.

The database opens in a new tab or windowand lookslike this:

Click on “Publications” in the top left-handcorner:

Search Publications

Publications are listed in A-Z order.Type “Consumer Reports” in the search

box.Then,

hit “Enter”or click the “Browse”Button.

Consumer Reports is listed.Click on the

title to openthe list ofavailable dates.

This page lists the magazine by year.You can

also searchwithin themagazine.

Browse Consumer Reports

Browse by year by clicking on the year you want to explore. The links will expand.

Clicking on avolume willopen thatmonth’sfull issue.

Each articleas its own link.

Choose thePDF FullText to read.

Now you can read the full article.Click “Result

List” to goback to thelist of otherarticles in theissue.

Go back to the Consumer Reports Page.Click on the

link that reads“Search withinthispublication”

A new search is prepared for you automatically.

ConsumerReports ishighlighted,in quotes andprefaced withJN.

Search Consumer Reports

Place your cursor in the search box next to “Consumer Reports.”

Type “AND” and then type the name or kind of product you are interested in. (I picked microwaves.)

Press enter or click “Search.”
