Introduction About Company Profile

Hindustan Computers Limited (HCL) Technologies is an electronics, computing and information technology company based in Noida, India.

It was founded in 1976 by Shri Shiv Nadar, the Founder & Chairman of HCL Technologies. Shri Anant Gupta, the President & Chief Executive Officer of HCL Technologies Limited and Ms. Roshni Nadar, daughter of founder of HCL Corporation, Shiv Nadar, has been appointed as the new CEO of HCL Corporation.

HCL has global centers, HCL: 31 countries, 170 cities, 360 service Centre's across industry including Business Process outsourcing, IT hardware and software services, healthcare services, professional services, media and entertainment services, consumer electronics.

In 2008, Government of India awarded Shri Shiv Nadar with Padma Bhushan the third highest civilian award, for his contribution to IT industry.

Problems in Existing System

The HCL Technologies is having a hard time in manually checking each daily time records of employees, salary calculation and cash advances.

It takes so much of time to compose salary of all employees and also takes very long time to make salary slip ready.

IntroductionPayroll system is the heart of any Human Resource System of an organization. Payroll Management System is basically used to build an application program, that a company uses to manage the records of the employees working in the company. Only the administration has the legal rights to work with the system. Employees can only log on to the system to see their current status.

Meaning of Payroll The term payroll means

that every employee who receives a regular wage or compensation, deductions and net pay during a week, month or period.

The total sum of money to be paid out to employees at a given time.

Objective The main objective of Payroll Management System is to help organization to manage employees salary, monthly cuttings, tax information, salary slips. The other objectives are: To improve efficiency of company’s administration. To store up-to-date information of the employees. To make the employees understand the rules of the

company. To reduce extra cost for the security of the database. Employee can easily put feedback through online

support.

Need for New System The New System supports the work done through automated

process. When the new system is implemented, payroll management will

be more easier and more efficient. The Computerized System will improve the company’s services

to her staff. It simplifies data entry, saves time and helps reduce errors.

The new system provides detail general information about the employees along with Educational, Certification, Skill and Project Details.

It enhances human resource management in adding, viewing and updating employee details and generates various reports based on employee’s skills and experience.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Payroll System

Advantages: Very fast and accurate Little knowledge to

operate the system

Disadvantages: It is used to take much

time to find an employee.

Certain required report is not available.

Employees cannot track their employment status.
