TRANSCRIPT

Revising takes practice!

Every paper benefits from revision. Revision allows you to make some modifications. The end result is well worth

the investment. This can make a difference and

transform and D paper to an A paper!

Benefits to revising

Your writing will be more effective and alive and ultimately better understood.

There is no good writing, only good re-writing

Getting started..

ALLOW YOURSELF TIME

Writing is a process that you do a little bit at a time. So allow yourself plenty of time!

Print out your paper

This helps you to catch your mistakes without relying solely on spell check. Spell check does not catch everything.

Organization

As you read your paper out loud look to see if your paper is organized. Check that you have transition statements in each paragraph this helps make sure that your paper flows from one logical point to another.

Does everything in your paper support your thesis? Have you gone off the topic? No matter how much you like a point or a

sentence, if it is off the topic, you must cut it out of your paper.

Real revision requires that you open yourself up to the possibility that parts of your paper - and even your entire paper - might need to be re-thought, and re-written.

Proofread

Check your grammar have you used the correct verb forms? Are you using the right words? Check your punctuation, do you see run on sentences or fragments? Check your spelling.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY...!!!

Use all sources available to you

There are plenty of sources available on the internet if you have any questions over grammar, citation, and so on. Your school may also provide a learning center that can help answer your questions and provide assistance.
