Per Jim Stasswender, head of Stasswender Monument Co, Austin on 11/24:

• His grandfather carved and installed the existing Covert marker on Mt Bonnell in 1938.

• Limestone will not last. Marker must be granite. The inscriptions should be on stone. A plaque, if used, must be bronze

• Bronze is very expensive and likely to be stolen.

• If selected, would plan to visit local quarries with client to select a suitable stone and develop detailed design

• Stone would be polished on one surface for inscription.

• Need three month lead time

• Estimated cost: Not less than $10K, not more than $20K.

HARDMAN SOLUTION

• Replicate original marker in limestone.

• If selected, would plan to visit local quarries with client to select a suitable stone and develop detailed design

• Inscription to be either directly on stone or on metal plaque

• Estimated cost ~$8500
