A Brief History of the Children’s Miracle Network

• Founded in 1983• Treats over 17 million

patients a year• 170 pediatric hospitals

in the United States, Canada, Ireland, the United Kingdom and Australia

Fundraising since 1983

• Has raised more than $3.4 billion as of 2008

• Raises more than $250 million annually• CMN has over 75

corporate partners

Beginnings of Dance MarathonThe idea of Dance Marathon started in the 1920s and 1930s

Since the 1920s, dance marathons have become a popular way to fundraise money for various charitable groups

The first Dance Marathon targeted at raising funds for CMN started in 1991 in honor of Ryan White One of the first Dance Marathons from the 1920s

• Started in 1994• Largest and most successfully run student run

organization in the Southeast United States• Has raised over $3.2 million since inception
