A producer can either work independently, developing ideas and raising money for a film, or they can work as part of a studio, proposing projects to the studios finance team…

Pre-production: the idea/ inspirationWhere do you think the inspiration for these films came from?

Can you work out which ones are inspired by: historical events, biographies, comic books, TV series, true stories, novels

In pairs you are going to produce your own package for a film with a view to finding investment for the production.

TASK 1: Come up with an idea that you think could be made into a film. Develop this into a 50-100 word outline to share with the class at the end of the lesson.

Lesson 2

Casting (choosing actors/ actresses for your film)

Task 2: When you have written your story, make a list of the main characters and try to match them with appropriate actors/ actresses. The more famous the actor the more expensive they will be.
