What is seen as “Gerrit Rietveld” and what features of modern faucets are seen “impressive” were where I focused my inspiration. I also dedicated research to how temperatures were usually measured and indicated, in simple graphics, thermostats, and of course, faucet temperature controls.

form experimentsI combined the geometric De Stijl form with curves and angles to create an interesting faucet form.
MechanicsI researched and created new mechanical ways of turning on the water, as well as using traiditional methods with new form.
Keeping the geometric De Stijl form in mind, I ideated with angles and straight edges. Later, I also added some curves and cylindrical forms to the faucet spout also, for the study of all possible form styles.

Traditional Mechanics& CurvesI designed a faucet that incorporates curves into the geometric De Stijl form.
New MechanicsUsing the new lifting mechanics I thought of, I designed a faucet that uses the mechanics.
final directionThe final direction of the faucet has a form that is the most simple yet angular, with the impressiveness of the temp. control.

sink designThe corresponding sink used with the faucet was designed according to the final faucet’s form. I used the same angles and similar proportions to
create a sink that seems “family” in the eyes of the user.
