EXPERIENCE SOMETHING DIFFERENTNow in its eighth year, Fest West is a pan arts* celebration of new work from across the South West, with performances and events at Salisbury Playhouse, Salisbury Arts Centre, The Pound, Corsham and Town Hall Arts, Trowbridge.

Over two weeks in February each venue will be bursting with exciting shows, workshops, exhibitions and films for all ages. A South West Symposium will also see artists and industry professionals from across the region discussing the hot topics of the day. We also have a number of companies in residence at each venue and there’s a chance to catch a glimpse of what they are working on each week over the festival period. The Festival also includes special events for families during the Half Term holiday.

VENUS IN THE LANDSCAPEThis exhibition presents contemporary visual arts practice, which draws inspiration from pre-history and the landscapes that have witnessed the creativity of mankind for millennia.Venus in the Landscape showcases the collection of Mirka Golden-Hann’s 365 ceramic female figures inspired by the Ice Age Venuses. The installation was made during 2018 – Year of the Woman as a study of the female. The intention for this installation is to later intern the individual figurines into landscapes between the UK and the Czech Republic. Together with this work the exhibition will include monumental felt work by Sarah Waters and flint-inspired sculpture by Wendy de Salis.
