• Ratified in 1791• Right to BEAR ARMS– What does this mean????• Right to carry a LEGAL weapon

Amendment Three

• Ratified in 1791• Quartering of Soldiers– What does this mean????• Citizens have the right to deny housing to a soldier in

the time of war

Amendment Four

• Ratified in 1791• Search and Seizure– What does this mean????• Prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures• Must have a search warrant if there is probable

cause/evidence of a crime

Amendment Five

• Ratified in 1791• Life, Liberty and Property– What does this mean????• Legal rights for people in criminal proceedings• Right to due process of the law (fair hearing/trial)• Pleading the 5th – no one can be forced to say

something that will make him/her look guilty
