Why study Science?• Over 20% of the Scottish workforce is employed in a role that
uses STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths)• The Scottish government announced last week that over
£5million pounds is being invested in the teaching of STEM subjects in 2015/16
• This will also be used to encourage girls to get involved more with STEM
• Studying science at school can lead to further study at University or College
• It can also take pupils forward into apprenticeships with multinational companies based in Scotland like GSK and BAe.
