What happen?

• When the Exxon Valdez, an oil tanker bound for long beach, hit the Prince William Sound’s Bligh Reef and spilled an estimated of 40.9 million liters or 250,000 barrels of crude oil.

March 24, 1989. • This accident is considered to be 1 of the most devastating human

causes environmental disasters ever to occur in the history

Why does this happen?

• It happen because the Exxon Valdez, an oil tanker hit Prince Williams Sound`s Bligh Reef, throwing all the oil to the sea.

Consequences

Some of the consequences are : Many animals and ecosystems died.Many money was lost in this accident.

• This was caused or this happen because a unknown origin make the drilling rig to collapse, breaking the pining hat connected the drill to the well, 5000 ft below the sea level.

Why does it happen

• The oil spill of the gulf of México, a catastrophic explosion that caused an oil spill from a BP offshore drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico has reached the shoreline early Friday morning, happen in April 20, 2010. This oil spill is on track to become the worst oil spill in history, surpassing the damage done by the Exxon Valdez tanker that spilled 11 million gallons of oil into the ecologically sensitive Prince William Sound in 1989.
