EXTENSION ACTIVITIES
2012-2013
NSS:
The college has an NSS unit with 220 volunteers. The college NSS unit organizes camps in
selected villages and localities in the city for community service. A minimum of two camps
and awareness campaigns are organized by the NSS unit in a year. To increase social
sensitivity and social responsibility among students, Voluntary Social Work is offered as a
part of the curriculum. The list of activities have been mentioned below:
On 1st Sept 2012. NSS Volunteers visited a home for a disabled at Secunderabad and
interacted with them.
On 18th
Sept 2012 NSS Volunteers involved themselves in Eco-Friendly Ganesha idol
making in the college premises.
On 5th
October, 2013, the students participated in a programme conducted by Andhra
Pradesh State AIDS Control Society and Red Ribbon Club to create awareness on HIV
and AIDS.
100 NSS volunteers took part in “Run For The Nation” on 11th
September, 2013. It was
conducted in connection with the 150th
Birth Celebration of Swami Vivekananda.

EXTENSION ACTIVITIES
2013-2014
NSS:
1. Dr. G. Nirmala attended Master Trainer Programme, jointly conducted by
Commissioner of Collegiate and APSACS (Andhra Pradesh State AIDS
Control Society) in connection with Red Ribbon Club. On 2nd
August, 2013
at Government Degree College, Begum pet. On 5th October, 2013 another
programme was conducted by the same organization at the same venue. Five
more colleges are allotted to our college to develop awareness about HIV
and AIDS in the student community. Students would then create awareness
in the general public. The colleges allotted to us are:
i) Keshav Memorial Degree College, Hyderabad.
ii) Indira Gandhi College (women's) West Maredpally, Secunderabad.
iii) S.V.G. Degree College, Hyderguda, Hyderabad.
iv) Global lnstitute of Hotel Management, Bakatpura.
v) Sai Sarada College (women's) Ameerpet, Hyderabad.
The Red Ribbon Club was established for this purpose by the college with
69 students of Degree II Year.
2. On l5th
August, 2013, 100 NSS Volunteers from Degree I Year (CBCS)
performed Surya Namaskars in the College Quadrangle amidst drum Beats
and chanting of Mantras under the guidance of NSS Programme Officer
Dr.G.Nirmala. The Principal and NSS Chairperson,Dr.M.V.Lakshmi
Devi,chanted OMKARAM and Shubham Mantra.
3. An Elocution Competition was conducted for NSS Volunteers on "Time
Management" on 20th August, 2013. Mrs.Sarojini, Department of Economics
and Ms. Roshini Chandrashekar Department of English, were the Judges and
selected 11Volunteers. They took part in the Semi-finals which was
conducted at Badruka College, Kachiguda in the form of Group Discussion
on 14th September, 2013 organized by Jeeyar Educational Trust, Domalguda,
and Hyderabad.
4. NSS Volunteers took part in making of Eco-friendly Ganesh in the college
Quadrangle on 6th September, 2013 from 3:00PM to 4:00PM. The clay was
supplied by Ganesh Ustav Committee.
5. 40 NSS Volunteers learnt Karate under the guidance of Mr.Gopal Reddy,
Karate trainer during morning hours in the college premises for a month and
they gave a performance on the stage in connection with a National Seminar
on "Safety and Protection for Millennium of Women" held in the college
Auditorium on 10th September ,2013.
6. 100 NSS volunteers took part in "Run for the Nation" held on 11th
September, 2013 in connection with Swami Vivekananda's 150th
year Birth
Celebrations the event was organized by Bhagyanagar Utsav Samithi. Mrs.
Sarojini, Department of Economics accompanied the students to People's
Plaza, Necklace Road. College NSS unit has distributed refreshments to the
participants after coming back to the college.
7. Dr.G.Nirmala,NSS Programme Officer took part in Pink Ribbon Run
conducted by STARS (Society for Training Awareness Recruitment and
Social Service) and jointly organized by KIMS Hospital and Ushamullapudi
Hospital from Kasu Bhramananda Reddy park to Jubilee Hills Check post
on 6th
October,20l3.
8. Report on NSS-Winter Special Camp from 7th
November, 2013 to 13th
November, 2013, at,RKNagar Slum,Thatti Annaram Village in Hayathnagar
Mandal, RR District.
Dr. G. Nirmala, Reader in Physics, NSS Programme Officer along with
Degree II year NSS Volunteers - 40 students, conducted a Winter Special
Camp (stay) at Rama Krishna Nagar Slum, Thatti Annaram Village
Hayathnagar Mandal from 7th
November, 20l3 to 13th
November, 2013.
They stayed at Grama Panchayat Office. Accommodation was provided by
Mr. R. Upender Reddy, Commissioner, Pedda Amberpet Camp Office, R.R.
District. Students did a Socio-economic survey and created awareness
against Child Labour and importance of child education. Students also
conducted a literacy programme highlighting Adult Education. They also
appealed to people to stop using Guthka.
9. On 10th December,2013, Red Ribbon Club conducted blood donation camp
in S.V.G. Degree College, Hyderguda, Hyderabad and Global Institute of
Hotel Management, Bakatpura. Various competitions were also conducted at
Keshav Memorial Degree College, Hyderabad. The Reports were handed
over to Government Degree College, Begumpet by the Red Ribbon Club
Trainer, Dr. G. Nirmala.
10. On 11th December,2013, 100 NSS Volunteers participated in a Rally from
Nizam College to Public Gardens in connection with World AIDS Day. Dr.
Achyutha Devi,NSS Programme Officer, accompanied the students.
11. On 20th December 2013, Red ribbon club conducted various competitions-
Essay writing, Elocution, PowerPoint presentation, Poster Presentation
regarding HIV in the College campus.
12. 9 NSS Students participated in-Nari Bheri on ETV on the topic "Yuvatha
Nera Pravruthi" on 28th
December 2013.
13. On 29th December 2013, 50 NSS volunteers participated in a rally "Together
we Care" conducted by Vikasa Tarangini at People's Plaza Sponsored by
Mohan's Foundation in connection with Organ Donation.
14. Ms.Sravya Lakshmi B.Sc Biotechnoloy II year, an NSS volunteer
participated in NSS National Youth Festival held at Ludhiana, Punjab from
l1th
to 17th
January 20l4 as a representative of Osmania University.
15. 21stJanuary to 27
thJanuary2014,an NSS winter Camp was held at Julur
Village, Pochampalli Mandal, Nalgonda District with 43 NSS Volunteers
accompanied by Dr. G. Nrirmala, NSS officer. They did a Socio Economic
Survey and identified the number of plants to be planted and submitted it to
the Village Sarpanch. A Medical Camp with General physician, Eye
specialist and ENT specialist was also held at Zilla Parishad High School.
16. A one day Camp was held on 8th
February 2014 with 254 students (NSS
volunteers of Degree I year and certified volunteer work - Degree I and II
year) at Chukapur, Amangal, Mahboobnagar District. Students planted
saplings and also identified various plants. Clean and Green programme was
also taken up by the Students.

1. On 26th December 2013, Clean of the Compass activity in which 50 students are
participated.

protection and rights of women.

2014-2015
NSS:
1. NSS students have attended the National Youth day camp at Sundaraiah Vignan
Kendram on 12th
January 2015 at 11AM on the occasion of Sri Swami Vivekananda
Birthday celebrations.
2. An orientation programme for the NSS students was conducted on 19th
January 2015 at
11.40am in the College Auditorium. The guest speaker – NSS Extension Officer Dr.
Raviteja.
3. NSS Special camp for Unit-I was conducted from 21st to 27
th January 2015 at Jalapur,

4. NSS Special camp for Unit-II was conducted from 23rd

January 2015 at Mehar

5. NSS Students has participated in awareness programme on Leprosy held at Sanjeevaiah

1. NSS Volunteers with two programme officers attended an International Yoga day which
was held at OU Tagore auditorium on 21stJune2015.
2. NSS Programme officers attended the One day district level NSS Programme Officers
meeting of Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medak Districts for 2015-16 at Platinum jublee
auditorium, OU on 5th
August 2015.
3. 5-NSS volunteers of RBVRRWC attended for YOUV-UTASAV 2015-International youth
day on 12th
August 2015 at YMCA West Marredpally, Secunderabad.
4. A program on Bharath Ratna Mother Teresa 105th
Birth Anniversary celebrations
were held at Andhra Saraswathi Parishath Auditorium, Abids, Hyderabad on 26th
August, 2015 is organized by the TELANGANA CITIZENS COUNCILS a Social
Service Organization. About 60 NSS volunteers have participated in the event.
5. Youth Convention for Degree students (girls) was conducted in VIVEKANANDA
INSTITUTE OF HUMAN EXCELLENCE on 12th
September, 2015 NSS volunteers have
attended the program the theme of the seminar is “SELF RELIANCE AND PERSONAL
TRANSFORMATION”
6. NSS committee has organized Blood Grouping Awareness Camp at RBVRR Women’s
College Quadrangle on 15th
September, 2015. NSS volunteers had participated actively and
conducted the blood typing test for the students and staff successfully.
7. NSS volunteers and NSS Programme Officers have visited Government Juvenile Justice
Home, Hyderabad regarding service to the girl child and spend time with them and brought
awareness on girl child Hygiene and involved in recreational activities with them on 19th
September,2015.
8. NSS committee has organized an Orientation Programme for all First year students of
B.Com, B.Sc, BA, BBMT NSS students on 22nd
September,2015 in the college.

2. 6 NSS Volunteers from Unit-I & II visited Govt. School to assist Parle-G Biscuit
factory and Masquti Dairy farm in distributing Biscuits and Milk to school on 17th

3. In connection with International Yoga day Celebrations, Heartfullness Sahajmarg
Meditation celebrated International day of Yoga on 21st June 2016 at Gachibowli
stadium. 100 NSS Volunteers were participated. Yoga session is conducted in the
Auditorium by Prof. Satyananda.
4. Pollution Control Board in association with famous premier League organized Go-
green Cricket cup on 26th
June 2016 at LB Stadium Basheerbagh. This event is
organised in aid to protect “TREES & ENVIRONMENT”.
5. NSS Volunteers Unit I and II along with the NSS Programme officers attended to
Harithaharam at DRDO, Dhundighal and Nizam college organized by Telangana
Government on 11th
July 2016.
6. NSS-Students have participated in volunteering school students to Dairy industry &
counseling at book centres on 18th

the event.
